China to Singapore Nonstop Flights 2026: Routes, Fares and Entry

Bottom line

China–Singapore is not a single route. Search the airport pair and date: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Xiamen and other cities can have nonstop inventory, but airlines, days and frequency change. Compare the final fare after baggage, seat, meal, airport and schedule—not a made-up annual average.

For holders of ordinary passports issued by the People’s Republic of China, Singapore’s mutual arrangement provides visa exemption for stays of up to 30 days. Visa-free does not mean form-free: most travellers must submit the free SG Arrival Card within three days, including arrival day, before arriving.

Route-planning answers

“Direct” versus “nonstop”

This guide targets flights with no intermediate stop. Search engines often use “direct” loosely; a direct flight number can sometimes include a stop. Filter for nonstop, then inspect the itinerary segment count and operating carrier.

Also check codeshares. The marketing airline shown at the top of a result may differ from the operating airline whose aircraft, baggage rules and onboard service apply.

Which Chinese airports should you search?

Start with the airport that minimises the whole journey, not only the international ticket.

Beijing

Search both airport code and terminal carefully. A cheaper international fare is poor value if the domestic positioning journey, hotel and airport transfer erase the saving.

Shanghai

Most international Singapore searches focus on Pudong (PVG), but confirm the actual departure airport. Never build a same-day connection by assuming Shanghai airports are interchangeable.

Guangzhou and Shenzhen

For Pearl River Delta travellers, compare both origins with the cost and border/ground time required to reposition. Do not assume the shorter flight has the lower final fare.

Chengdu and Chongqing

Western-China nonstop availability can save a domestic connection, but may operate on fewer days. Search flexible dates and inspect whether a result silently adds a stop.

Hangzhou, Xiamen and other cities

Secondary-city service can be excellent when it matches the trip. Frequency is often more vulnerable to seasonal changes, so verify the operating date on the airline site.

The old page’s fixed “five airlines” list and daily frequencies were incomplete and already unsafe. Changi’s live flight information and the airline timetable are the source of truth.

Full-service versus low-cost: compare the trip you need

Singapore Airlines and Chinese full-service airlines may include more in the selected fare family, while Scoot and other low-cost products can separate baggage, meals and seats. Brand category alone does not reveal total cost.

Create one comparison for every traveller:

base fare + checked bag + cabin bag above allowance + seat + meal + payment fee + airport/positioning cost + change risk

Check:

• operating carrier and aircraft only as shown for the date;
• cabin and checked-baggage allowance for the exact fare;
• through-checking only when confirmed on one itinerary;
• seat-selection cost for each segment;
• meal and water inclusions;
• change/refund fee plus fare difference;
• support channel if the flight is disrupted;
• arrival time and hotel check-in/transport plan.

The previous article claimed Singapore Airlines economy always included 23 kg and that the low-cost gap narrowed to USD 30–50. Allowances and price gaps vary by fare and cannot be generalised.

How to find a better fare without fake timing rules

There is no reliable rule that seven weeks ahead is 42% cheaper or Tuesday is always 25% cheaper. Those figures were not tied to a reproducible dataset.

Use this process instead:

1. Search a seven-day date range if the trip is flexible.
2. Compare nearby departure airports only after adding the positioning cost.
3. Filter nonstop and reasonable arrival times.
4. Add baggage and seats before ranking results.
5. Save the exact flight numbers and fare family.
6. Check the operating airline’s site for schedule and terms.
7. Buy when an acceptable total and cancellation/change risk appear.

For Lunar New Year, China’s national holidays, school breaks and major Singapore events, start monitoring earlier. That is risk management, not a promise that one booking window is cheapest.

Singapore entry rules for PRC travellers

30-day mutual visa exemption

Singapore ICA confirms that, from 9 February 2024, holders of ordinary PRC passports are exempt from visa requirements for stays of up to 30 days. Other PRC-issued travel documents can have different rules. Work, study, journalism and stays beyond the permitted scope require the correct approval or visa.

Visa exemption does not guarantee entry or guarantee a 30-day pass. Immigration officers decide admission and the stay granted.

Passport and trip evidence

ICA’s current general entry requirements state that non-Singapore passport holders should have at least six months’ passport validity. Be prepared to show onward/return travel, accommodation and the means/purpose of the visit if requested.

SG Arrival Card

Most travellers must submit the SG Arrival Card within three days, including the day of arrival. It is free through ICA’s official e-service or MyICA app. The old Chinese page incorrectly said Chinese passport holders were exempt and that a paper card could be completed after arrival.

Use only the official ICA entry page. Paid lookalike sites are not required.

Transit is different

Remaining airside for a connection and entering Singapore are different situations. Baggage collection, separate tickets, terminal changes and overnight plans may require immigration. Ask both airlines whether bags are through-checked; do not assume all tickets on a named carrier qualify.

Changi arrival and connection checklist

Before departure:

• verify terminal and flight status with the airline/Changi;
• complete SG Arrival Card in the official window;
• save the electronic confirmation and hotel address;
• confirm whether baggage is through-checked;
• allow a connection buffer based on separate tickets and immigration;
• plan late-night transport if arrival is after rail operating hours.

Changi advises checking live flight information and contacting the airline for the latest disruption/rebooking information. A static article cannot promise a terminal or frequency.

Shopping and GST: two different rules

The old article mixed duty-free allowances, GST refund and a false “approximately 7%” rate.

Tourist Refund Scheme when leaving Singapore

Eligible tourists departing by air may claim GST refund on qualifying goods from participating retailers. Singapore Customs currently requires at least S$100 including GST, which may be accumulated under specified same-day/same-retailer conditions. Services, accommodation and goods consumed in Singapore do not qualify. Processing costs mean the cash refund is not simply the headline GST rate.

Import relief when entering Singapore

This is separate from the departure refund. Current relief depends on time spent outside Singapore and traveller status; liquor has its own conditions and tobacco is not covered by the general relief. Declare goods above applicable concessions. Do not use the old “S$600 plus 400 g tobacco” claim.

Do mainland Chinese tourists need a Singapore visa in 2026?

Holders of ordinary PRC passports are visa-exempt for stays up to 30 days under the current mutual arrangement. Check ICA immediately before travel and note that other travel documents differ.

Must Chinese travellers submit SG Arrival Card?

Yes, unless they fall within one of ICA’s stated exceptions. Submit it free within three days including arrival day.

Is Scoot always cheapest?

No. It may show a low base fare, but baggage, seat, meal, timing and change terms can reverse the result.

Which airline has the best business class?

Compare the aircraft and seat for the exact flight, lounge access, schedule, fare rules and loyalty program. Airline-wide labels are not enough because substitutions occur.

Can baggage be checked through in Singapore?

Only rely on what the airlines confirm for the specific ticket. Separate tickets and some interline combinations can require collection and re-checking.

How early should I reach Changi for departure?

Changi’s current guidance suggests at least two hours for short-haul and three for long-haul, while the airline may specify more. Account for tax-refund inspection, baggage and peak periods.
