Luxury hotel bookings: How it works, the amenities, payment and cancellation

We book the major luxury hotels around the world. When we make the booking, the hotel adds amenities under its own programme; they vary by hotel and typically include breakfast for two, a hotel credit and, when one is available, an upgrade. You pay at the hotel, and the cancellation terms match the hotel's own website. We quote each stay, sometimes below the hotel's own rate.

We make the booking in the GDS, the reservation system travel agencies use, and you pay at the hotel. Under their own programmes, hotels add amenities such as breakfast and a hotel credit to bookings like these. The service covers luxury hotels around the world, and you can ask about hotels we have not written about.

How it works

  1. Send us the hotel (or the city), your check-in and check-out dates, and the number of guests.
  2. We check availability and the rate, then reply with a quote.
  3. Once you confirm, we make the booking in the GDS.
  4. You pay at the hotel, and the hotel provides the amenities under its programme.

Amenities

Amenities come from the hotel and follow its own programme, so the mix differs from one hotel to the next. The usual ones are breakfast for two and a hotel credit, along with an upgrade when one is available; the credit is mostly around US$100, and some hotels offer US$100–200 depending on the room type. Some hotels also offer early check-in and late check-out, again subject to availability.

To find out what a particular hotel includes, ask when you enquire.

Payment, price and cancellation

You pay at the hotel. The cancellation terms match the hotel's own website; they differ from hotel to hotel, and the terms of the hotel you book apply. Your quote is the price, and it is sometimes below the hotel's own rate.

Loyalty points

Eligible bookings can earn loyalty points. We confirm which bookings qualify when you enquire.

When to book another way

  • The hotel is not a luxury hotel. This service covers luxury hotels only. You can still ask about other hotels, and we will explain how to book them.
  • You need instant confirmation. We check before we quote; if you need confirmation on the spot, the hotel's own website will be quicker.

FAQs

Who do I pay?

The hotel, at its front desk.

What is the cancellation policy?

The same as on the hotel's own website. Terms differ from hotel to hotel; those of the hotel you book apply.

Are the amenities the same at every hotel?
